Changing the changing around here

I decided there was change that needed to happen in my family. Once I talked to Clayton and agreed(after he said no and we then talked about the amount of $ we could save) we went to the store and got a set of these bad boys.

Yep. Cloth diapers. I know, I am now that weird mom I said I would never be!

They are so not what I thought though.

I thought “ewww messy”- they aren’t!

I thought “more work booo”- not really, just one load of laundry over night while I snooze!

I thought “too expensive”- but again nope. Initially they are a doozey. Well let’s use Clayton words and call it an investment. Otherwise just that one load of laundry a day and if I quite leaving stuff in the wash and having to re-wash it then I call it breaking even.

Honestly they are wonderfull and I not even getting into the brand we are currently using (Charlie Banana) I am just talking about the pure idea and dynamic of them. They are just like disposable but you wash and then reuse them. They fit my babies well. They are so much softer and cuter than those plastic and stiff disposable diapers. I am just so happy that we decided to try because they are wonderful…for us. No judgement though if you still think I am crazy and would NEVER do this yourself…because I was there about a week or so ago.

Don’t let me fool you though. We still plan on keeping a small amount of disposables around for when we can’t wash or are already out. There will also be those times when say we go to the zoo and we just don’t want to lug three dirty cloth diapers around with us all day.

I am no supermom…but my kids think I am and that is the way is should be!
